Meet Julie โ Founder of The Bridge ๐๐Julie is a dedicated educator, long-time Bruce County resident, and proud mom of two boys. With over 20 years of experience teaching in public, separate, and private schools, she has worked with students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 and spent a number of years working in Special Education.She studied high level maths at McMaster University, has received additional training in the Science of Reading๐ย and has additional qualifications in Reading๐ and in teaching Mathematics๐.ย Julie is passionate about working with children while ensuring they have every opportunity to succeed. Weโre so grateful to have her leading the way! ๐ย
Meet Melissa โ Literacy Instructor ๐โจMelissa brings a heart full of passion for helping kids become confident, capable readers! As a wife, a mom of 5, and an active volunteer in child and youth ministries, she knows just how important it is to support and encourage young learners. Her desire is for each child who walks through her door to develop a love for reading ๐ย Through ongoing training, Melissa is honing her craft, eager to support students because she knows first-hand the struggle some students face with regards to reading. She is passionate about ensuring each student gains the skills necessary to not only read, but read well! She believes that building confidence in our kids is key, and knows that celebrating even the tiniest of accomplishments can have huge impacts on a student's self-esteem.In her spare time, she can often be found curled up with a good book or browsing the library shelves for her next read. ๐๏ธ
Meet Blaine โ Math and Literacy Instructor ๐โจBlaine brings over 10 years of experience working with children in local schools and her church community.ย As a wife and mom of two teenage daughters, she understands the importance of creating a positive and engaging learning environment where kids feel supported and empowered. ๐ฉโ๐ซย Blaine believes that strong literacy skills are the key to success for her students. Her calm and encouraging demeanour is matched only by her desire to assist student's in overcoming the learning challenges they face. As a result, she continually invests countless hours into seeking out new research-based strategies to best support her studentsโbecause every child deserves the tools to thrive! ๐๐
Meet Amy โ Literacy, Math, and Writing Teacher ๐โจAmy brings a wealth of experience and deep passion for kids. After earning her Bachelor of Education from Nippissing University, she began her teaching career in New Zealand before returning home to teach in Ontario. Along the way, she's also been active in the local homeschooling community while teaching her own four children. ๐ฉโ๐ซAmy is passionate about helping kids discover their strengths to reach their full potential. Sheโs known for her warm approach, her ability to connect with students, and her enthusiasm for helping every child grow in confidence and skill. โค๏ธAmy loves being part of our vibrant community - both in education and through her involvement at church. When she's not teaching, you'll find her outdoors, cooking something delicious, or spending time with family and friends. ย ย

Through her experience supporting her own children's education, she has developed a strong appreciation for different learning styles and the value of flexibility in helping students succeed.

Meet Konner โ Literacy Instructor ๐โจKonner is passionate about helping children grown in confidence, build meaningful skills, and discover their unique strengths in a supportive and encouraging environment.ย She is currently studying Early Childhood Education ๐ at Fanshawe College , building on her previous experiences in health care that helped shaped her compassionate, nurturing approach to working with others.
Konner believes children learn best when they feel safe, valued, and celebrated for who they are. โค๏ธ She recognizes the powerful impact positive relationships, encouragement, and consistency can have on a child's growth and success.
Outside of working with students, Konner enjoys spending time with family and friends, caring for her dog, Nova, and cat, Buddy, and making memories through travel with her fiance.
